Nike Bag ^^

My new computer bag. Fits my Macbook Pro perfectly ^^

Weekend in Daegu

I had such a great time in Daegu this weekend ^^ It was good to finally see Mie in Korea. She arrived in November last year, but it was the first time to go to Deagu since Juy of last year. Daegu is a nice place. I met Mie downtown on saturday afteroon, and we had a coffee together, and did some shopping. Mie wanted to buy a new bag. We looked at a few stores (Adidas, Nike, Puma, etc)... at the Nike store, I saw a nice satchel bag, that has a compartment for a notebook computer, but I thought it would be too small, so I didn't buy it... But, i really liked the color!

But, then we went into the North Face store. It was so quiet there! We were the only ones in the store. Mie found a bag that she really liked. Then, 동균 arrived in Daegu, and we had dinner together. It was good to see 동균 again too. After dinner, I met 강모, and we went back to his house. He's such a cool guy, and a good friend. Its been a long time, since I've lied awake in bed, and talked to a friend. I dont know what time it was, but we talked late ^^

On sunday, we looked at a few things around Daegu. We went to 전자관, kind of like a mini iPark Mall at 용산. There were some nice computers and other electronic things there. Then we went to the Confucian school (향교), and had a look. A guy came up to us, and started talking about the school. 강모 did a very good job at translating for me, because the guy was talking in korean ^^ We walked back to downtown, and had lunch. I can't remember what it was, but it was chicken, with 동면 (is that right, 강모?) and vegetables. It was so delicious!

Before we left 강모's house, I checked the size of my notebook, on the Apple website. I was still thinking about that Nike bag I saw when I was with Mie the day before. I wrote down the measurements, and took that with me. After lunch, we found a Nike store, and we asked a sales person, to measure the pocket for the notebook, to see if it would fit my notebook. And it was a perfect fit! So, I bought it! hehe.

강모 walked me to the subway station (since I can easily get lost in crowded places ^^). We said "seeya later", and I took a train to 동대구station, while he went to Church. I arrived at 동대구 station at 3:50pm, and I was hoping that I could get a seat on the 4pm bus, but it was full. The next bus at 4:40pm was also full. So, I had to get a seat on the 5:20pm bus. While I was waiting for the bus, I walked around for some time, though the train station, and to Tourist information, on the other side of the station, and got a few pamphlets about Daegu, and 경상북도.

Anyway, I had such a great time with Mie, 동균 and 강모, that I will have to go to 대구 again soon ^^ Thanks everyone for a fantastic weekend ^^

Back in Sachang

Never thought I'd say this, but it feels good to back in Sachang. Travelling and seeing my friends is good, but it does get rather annoying to carry all my stuff all the time.

Well, just an update of what happened in Seoul. I stayed at my friend's house in 방학 sunday night, and met one of his friends (a korean guy), who's English was 100% fluent. He was a pretty cool guy.

On monday, I went to meet a friend in downtown Seoul. I bought some new shoes, but I had some problems with my credit card. Well, for some reason, I couldn't use it. They tried 3 times to use it, so I could pay for the shoes with cash. But, when I looked at my back records on line, the 3 attempts to pay for it on my credit card have appeared on my bank statement! I emailed the bank, to see if they could do something about it, but they haven't replied yet.

After I met my friend, I went back to 방학 and collect my things. I couldn't stay at his house any more. All he did for the holidays, was drinks soju, sleep and smoke. he didn't even leave his apartment, so, all my things smelt like cigarette smoke! Also, i couldn't sleep well there, because of the smell... So, I had to leave.

I planned to meet friends in 강남 that night, so I took all my stuff with me, and stayed in a motel in 강남.

Tuesday, i met a friend for lunch, and it was really good to see her. We walked around 용산, and had a look there. Where did the Apple stores go? Then, KTX back to Jangseong. I have to work today, but i'm glad its only for 3 days ^^

I'm going to Daegu for the weekend... it will be good ^^

I'm in Seoul now, staying at my friends' house in 방학. I arrived yesterday, and then went to Itaewon, and bought some new clothes - a new jacket, some new pants, and 2 t-shirts. Then had a subway sandwich, and came back to Banghak. My friend smokes way too much, and never opens windows, so, i feel sick at his house. He wakes up in the middle of the night, and has a smoke, and it wakes me up. I am in a PC방 now, and it smells cleaner than his house ^^ haha

Today, I just relaxed, and worked on a song I've been remixing. A guy at a music forum liked a remix I did, and was wondering if I would do a remix for a friend of his, so I said I'll try. The song has kind of turned out like "Dance 4 Life" by Tiesto... Which is what I had in mind anyway.

Later in the day, I walked around 방학 and looked around. Bought a few things from Homever, and I took my notebook with me, and worked on the remix in a park new my friends house. I bought some strawberries at Homever, and ate a few while I was using my computer.

For a day and a half, the elevator was out of order in my apartment building, but it's fixed now. I am glad that I didn't have to walk up 12 flights of stairs again. Even though it's good exercise, i hated it. I would rather walk up the mountains near my house, instead of those boring steps!

The weather has been strange lately. Sunny one day, rain, wind and snow the next. The wind is really strong, too, and noisy between the apartments.

This weekend is a long weekend in Korea, for celebrating the Lunar New Year. The actual day is on a sunday, but there are 3 days for celebration. But, 2 of the days land on the weekend, and one day on the monday. So, only 1 extra day off.

I had a really good weekend this weekend. I went to the beach near Gyeokpo with the grade 3 middle school students, and then to the set of the korean drama 이순신, and then lunch. Then, went downtown wiht Bong and Myo. Bong bought some clothes, and I bought a bag. Myo was bored, and hungry ^^ hehe. We went to Burger King.

Sunday, I went downtown again, and met Michelle, an American working in Gwangju. She's really cool, we talked alot, checked out the cinema's, ate lunch (and talked more), and then watched Apocolypto. It was an interesting film. On the way home, I stopped at the book store in the Bus Terminal, and bought some Korean learning books... I want to try to study on a regular basis.

I finally got my gostop game money back up to 1million won. i am slowly getting better at gostop ;)

The weather has been so nice, since the weekend. I hope it continues. Spring time is the best season in Korea, so I hope to do a lot of traveling during that time, before it goest too hot. Does anyone have any suggestions? ^^

Lately, every time I have been at the bus terminal in Gwangju, I've been approached by Koreans who are religious, and try to "offer" magazines to read about their religioun. Its bloody annoying! Lately, they've been Jahovah's (or however its spelt). I'm sitting down, wating for my bus, minding my own business, and I'm almost harrased by a stranger, saying I should practice their religion.

I'm not rude to them, I just say politely, that i'm not interested. but, it happens so many times, that its just annoying. Maybe, I should have payed attention in French class in High School, so I could just say I'm a tourist from France. lol
