Didn't do much today... Just went to GwangJu Immigration to start to get my Alien ID card, and went to back to change my Australian money (they were as slow as Australian banks!). Also, went to a stationary shop new GwangJu bus station, and bought some stuff...
Got back to SaChang, got some lunch, and then teaching classes... SuJeong, HyunPil and YonSil might visit me this saturday, which will be cool ^^
Everything's going well, until I got this cold last wednesday... but, my boss took me to the chemist here and helped me out. Got some cold and flu tablets, and drank this health drink thing. Today, if the first cloudy and raining day (as in all day) here in SaChang. It's a bit cold... but okay ;)

Was going to go to GwangJu this weekend, but that didn't happen. Couldn't sleep well last night, and was going to go with a friend in the morning... completely slept through my alarm, and missed my friends call to go to the bus stop... I will go next week, or the week after...Anyway, I'm going into GwangJu with my boss tomorrow morning, to get my Alien Registration Card and to change my Australian Money... That will be good...
Just hanging out in SaChang this weekend, since it is my first weekend here. I slept in today until 11am korean time (12pm australia (호주) time). The cable/satellite TV people came at that time, to fix the TV... The cable TV wasn't working properly... and I wanted to watch a few different things... 17000won (about $20) a month for about 30 - 40 channels! most are in korean, but there are a few english things as well ;)

Had a shower, and then went shopping today... Went to one of the supermarkets, and bought a few things... I think I will have to go to GwangJu to get margarine... they dont sell it here... hehe ;) It was a big effort to go shopping... to think about all the things i need, and then to think in korean... haha...

>now, I am in Internet cafe... the call PC bang (방) here... there are many boys here playing computer games! no girls at all!
Was up until 4am last night, drinking with new friends. It was me, my boss, other foreign teacher (that leaves tomorrow) local Hapkido master, we went to dinner in a seafood restraunt, and then started to drink soju! Ah, they drank so much! I coulnd't drink that much, because I dont drink often. But, i still had a good time. We drank about 8 bottles altogether, but I think I only drank about 1 bottle.. the others had 7. I think, in time, I will be better at drinking Soju ^^ haha

Today, after drinking last night, I didn't feel like korean food. We went to a restraunt for lunch, and I didn't eat much, just had a basic soup and rice, drinking water. As must as I wanted to try new korean food, I didn't think I could handle it... I just wanted western food! haha! I knew it would make me feel better. There is a local Pizza place, so I had pizza for dinner... I feel so much better now!

Today, I spent time with the other teacher, meeting the other students. I am slowly getting used to things now... but, still many things confuse me! hehe

I also found out that the building that the hagwon (english institute) that I work in, has a roof, that you can go on to... I am not used to that, so I was very surprised! I was talking with a middle school student, and his english is good. We talked about many things - korean things, australian things, korean middle school, favourite school subjects, throwing a paper plane of the roof! He seemed really friendly. I think that many koreans are friendly to foreigners... some, maybe to give a good impression of their country... but, most, because they are kind, caring and warm-hearted people ^^

I Arrived!

Well... I made it to Korea yesterday... after 28 hours of flights and airports! Airline food is totally not good for you! I arrived in Gwangju at 12pm on the tuesday... after checking in at my first flight in Mildura at 9am the previous day (8am korean time)... I was so tired when I arrived in GwangJu... I didn't sleep well on the flights... but Singapore Airlines were pretty good. The Mebourne to Singapore flight had about 60 movies to choose from. I watched War of the Worlds... was a bit shit... but it passed the time.

When I arrived as singapore, it was about 10pm local time, and almost 30 degrees! It was so humid! I badly needed a shower just after I left singapore. The Singapore airport was huge! Heaps of Shops!

I met YM at Incheon airport. It was nice to meet her. Actually, I thought she would have been a bit shorter, so I was a bit surprised! ;) It was nice to meet a friend there ;)

Felt good just to relax tuesday afternoon.... Had a shower, in the bathroom that has no shower curtain... that will take some time to get used to... haha... Anyway, the appartment is nice. I'm on the first floor.

I met two other english teachers here, that will be here for the time I am. A guy from New York, who lives in the next appartment over... and a Canadian guy, who lives on the 14th (top) floor of the same appartment building. Everyone seems pretty cool, and SaChang seems like a nice place.

It's only my 2nd day in korea... I am a little bit nervous, and little bit excited, a little bit scared... but, feels really good ;)
Well, moved back home last sunday. Only took 7 hours to drive. Got a speeding fine! grrr! Dont the cops have anything else to do... like catch criminals or something, rather than give someone a $210 (170000W for our korean viewers ^^) on a lazy sunday afternoon?!?! Anyway, I made it home, and have just been chilling out at home. Met up with Lisa and Sara for coffee monday night, two friends from Uni... Had lunch with my Nan on tuesday. Had lunch with Garth (high school friend) on wednesday, and played a game of minigolf. Still excited about going to Korea. The idea that I'm going sunk in ages ago... But, the idea that I'll be there for 12 months (or maybe more), has just sink in... It's a bit annoying that it will take me almost 28 hours for all the travel... But, I'm ready for this adventure to begin! ^^

Boring

My last few days in Melbourne aren't exactly fun... The only good things are seeing friends before I go. I had dinner with G last night. For a girl who says that she wants dinner, and isn't hungry, she sure can eat alot ;) hehe ;) Anyway, I had a great time with her last night - I really will miss her.

Anyway, I'm almost prepared to go to Korea. My stuff is organised and almost packed. Just gotta hang out in Melbourne until sunday. Then one week at home with family, before I go to Korea.

I haven't been getting much sleep this week. I think it is because I'm really excited about going to Korea, and that I'm not doing much during the day to make me sleepy. I know i will sleep well sunday night back home... Packing all my things, and driving for 7 hours will make you a bit tired.

2 weeks to go

Had a pretty good weekend. Met up with C on Sunday night and had dinner. We went to a Malaysian restaurant. It was really nice meeting her. We talked about alot of different things, and had a great time ;)

Saturday and Sunday weren't too bad... Just started going through all my stuff - putting it in bags and boxes, getting ready to move all my stuff back to my parents house. I didn't realise how much stuff I actually bought while being in Melbourne for 8 months. I've already got my suitcase half packed ;) Slowly getting other things organised.

Got my International Drivers Permit sorted out today... so, watch out, Korea! I could be driving when I'm there ;) haha ;)
